Beautiful little QRP radio

I'm not going to give a technical review here, but from the perspective of a seasoned radio amateur and electronics buyer, the Xiegu X5105 represents excellent value for money. It's literally a "cabin in a box" with a built in spectrum sweeper, SWR analyzer, iambic key and antenna tuner. Note, however, that this is a low-power (5W) QRP radio.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Clarity

Excellent QRP transceiver!

I have three HF transceivers - X5105 and G90 (both from Xiegu) and ICOM-7300. The X5105 is the easiest to transport and install. IT is one of the best QRP transceivers on the market. The device can be operated for several hours with a fully charged battery. When not using an end-fed random wire antenna I use ham sticks set at 15m, 20m, 30m, 40m and 60m. The radio picks up signals on each ham stick clearly. Same for vertical feed from end but add additional bands like 6m, 10m, 160m. This is a…

Great little high performance radio!

I like everything about it. Dimensions and characteristics, high-quality assembly, no plastic, durable metal housing. I bought it because where I live I have a lot of background noise and thought I would have to upgrade to a portable device to go on the air. I didn't want to build my Kenwood base and decided to switch to QRP. With a DSP, built in antenna tuner and SWR analyzer all I need is this great setup and a long wire antenna instead of a bin full of gear. He even cuts through QRM here at…

Great little radio.

I bought mine from Radioddity. Great solid little radio with good battery life. I used it with Buddistick for SOTA/POTA activation. The biggest advantage for me is the antenna analyzer. I don't have to carry a separate one around with me for setup. During our first outing with this radio on a resonant antenna, we established 20m SSB links in Florida and South Carolina, Canada. It weighs exactly 2 pounds. After an hour of CQ calls, transmit and receive, even with the analyzer, the battery was…

Radioddity's customer service is excellent

The car I received had a mechanical problem with the keys. I reported this to Radioddity and Vevina was very helpful. After exchanging details about the problem in several emails, she agreed to send me a replacement which is now on its way to me. I would rate their customer service very highly. Also, it was nice to be able to communicate with the same person every time and not rush from one agent to another like some companies do. This leads to a lot of wasted time having to re-explain the…
