I bought this pump to drain my pool deck. As other reviews say, it's slow but effective. I also put it on top of the frisbee (after reading other reviews) to keep it from tipping over.

I have a 600 GPH pump and this pump doesn't even come close. It's closer to 300 gallons per hour and too small and underpowered to be used on a pool cover. It takes forever to pump water. Spend your money elsewhere!

This is false advertising. It's not sucking up 800 gallons every hour. How do I know? I have an empty bucket that contains 8 gallons. I time it and it fills the bucket in 1 minute 8 seconds. That's 52.94 gallons per hour. That's almost 750 gallons less than advertised. I am returning this product.

1) The delivery was fast 2) It pumps the water out of the lid quite well. The first time there were no problems with the pump. But: The next week it just didn't start. After plugging and unplugging this pump a few times, I noticed that it only works if it's plugged in at a certain angle. It looks like a factory defect in the power cord.

A small Chinese pump that could do it. I drained my 30ft round pool cover. Slowly but turned on and went to bed. When I woke up I found the auto shut off didn't turn it off but still worked fine. was better than polluting the pool.

This pump claims to be 800 GPH and I think I could believe it if they accidentally added a zero. I threw it in the spa to drain the water, thinking that with that power it could get the job done in an hour or two. After 12 hours I had to turn it off and finish the next day. Altogether probably about 14 hours. You get what you pay for.
