Inexpensive, works and easy to install

The title says it all. The replacement switch worked great on my 2005 Prius. My original switch broke after years of heavy use (I use my cruise control a lot). Installation was easy, but be sure to disconnect the 12-volt battery first (or risk accidentally deflating the driver's side airbag). After I installed and reconnected my 12 volt battery, the switch worked and I saved over $350 installing it myself (the shop wanted to charge me over $375).

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers

Instructions - Electrical and Batteries

Be sure to disconnect the battery. Remove the plastic cover on the right side. Look through the 2 tiny holes on the steering column. Plastic hole cover. The airbag should deploy at this point after all 3 pins have been released. Slide the cruise control over the side of the airbag and it should line up properly. back and connect the battery. It really is that simple and took about 10 minutes. Manufactured on a 2017 Toyota Yaris. If it breaks as stated in other reviews I will change this review.

Pros
  • Free for educational use
Cons
  • Blank

This cruise control switch is no different than a Toyota OEM switch, save for the cost. I followed the installation instructions and added a cruise control feature to my 2007 Toyota Tacoma that was not installed when I bought it. OEM parts would have been $250, but with this switch, clutch switch and switch cover, I was able to get my pre-installed cruise control for $69. Many base Toyota models have the ability to activate cruise control by adding a few switches and connectors. Many YouTubeโ€ฆ

Less expensive but still skeptical.

The same part is $175 if you buy it from Toyota and $110 if you buy it from Auto Zone. I was very skeptical because of such a low price of Xtreme Amazing, but I received it today (a day after ordering), installed it, tested it and everything worked! The only reason I didn't give my review 5 stars is because I'm still skeptical. So far I am very happy with my purchase, to the point where I pat myself on the back for buying it from Xtreme and not elsewhere. I just hope he doesn't come back toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Durable Test Results

Works great on Tacoma 2010

Delivered on time. I watched a few videos online to learn how to replace/install them. After waiting a little over an hour after disconnecting the battery, the installation just as easily took under 10 minutes. Removed the 2 small access panels on either side of the steering wheel using a 30mm torque wrench, loosened the screws holding the airbag on either side (extremely tight), used a Phillips head to loosen the 2 screws holding the switch in place held, unplugged the old switch, reconnectedโ€ฆ
