Superconnectors: Industrial Electrical

Routing low voltage LED wiring in outdoor signs. Corrosion in cable connections leads to lighting failures. These connectors allow soldering and shrinking in one easy process. I recommend buying a temperature controlled heat gun with a small outlet tube. They can be used with a standard heat gun, but with the right heating tool, they're easier and quicker to install. They would be excellent for sea connections.

  • Satisfied so far

They work very well! used to rebuild my boat from 14ga

I just rebuilt my boat, all my accessories worked with 14 gauge. Every wire-to-wire connection I've used has worked exceptionally well. On the first boat I learned that BBQ lighters work, so it's much better to buy a butane gas lamp, especially since I work either in dock or with the fan running. both work well with heat shrink tubing + solder, but the butane torch is less wind interfering. So far everything seems to be waterproof and durable.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Negative gift

I've been using them for many years. These are by far the shittiest I've ever used. When I melted some solder, it burned through and fell out like a lumpy rock. I have some of the ones I had before and have used them with no problems. It's like there's no flux in the solder. I noticed that the solder ring was a much duller gray. The ones I've used in the past (from many vendors) are bright solder. Not a quality product in my opinion.

Cheap Trust

I am very happy with it! They are a huge improvement over traditional crimp connectors. My first project with them was installing a car radio and they worked great. WITHOUT WORRY if you can make a solid connection with them because you can see the solder melting into the wires and know the end result will be good. For this first setup they have great sound and no hiss, hiss or interference. I need to assemble an engine wiring harness and will definitely be using it. Highly recommended!

Works very well but takes some getting used to

They take a little getting used to so some practice is needed before you can actually splice. The outer plastic becomes VERY SOFT at the temperature required to melt the solder so care must be taken. If you heat the plastic a little, it will char. Once you get used to them, they will work very well. It is highly recommended to use a heat gun instead of matches or lighters. A small hand-held heat gun will work with the smallest (white) fittings, but for the next size (blue) and larger you'll…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Simple, Efficient, Clean

I've been looking for several wire-to-wire connectors they're great for, but found them very useful for RGB LEDs (4-pin, 5mm). The frames for these lights come with 2-leg mounts, so you're really on your own when you need an RGB LED in a panel mount. In any case, these plumbs are perfect for her - the legs stick out over the middle. Solder point, which greatly simplifies the task. I use 22-18ga gaskets, and while they hold well enough for a strong, professional looking connection, you can use…

Saves time and ensures a reliable mechanical connection.

Not sure what stretch is for product rating. They are great for 14-16 gauge wire. I used a grill lighter. Sea wire has high temperature resistance, so there were no consequences. When I tried 12Gage wires. the solder did not penetrate and the additional heating time caused the product to fail. Just don't try to use outside of the specified size range. This is a time saver, no crimping, both wires are connected at the same time, a secure tight connection (visible solder flow), then both ends are

My new favorite connectors

So far I've always used crimp connectors. They work great except when in tight spaces where it's nearly impossible to get the crimping tool to do its job. There is also the problem of having to pre-install heat shrink tubing on it, which is also sometimes difficult. They solve both problems. Simply slide the connector onto a wire, join the bare ends of the two wires together, insert the connector into the connector so the solder ring inside is over the joined ends, fire the heat gun and shrink…
