Eh, should work fine

As some said. Actual data cables are not individually shielded, so your experience may vary. Here's the color scheme if you look straight at the tip of the connector.

  • Weight
Cons

The wiring is completely wrong.

Cable connected incorrectly. I spent half a day on this before deciding to get a resistance controller. Mine: 1 Black 2 Brown 3 Red 4 Orange 5 Yellow 6 Green FYI, there are two black wires and NO blue.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Not the best

Works, but read on for FT8 or Digital Audio.

I bought this to set up my own data connection for FT8. After many wrong connections, I found that the picture on the box was not properly aligned with the back of the radio. It's rotated 180 degrees. After figuring that out, I was able to connect the pins and get it working. One note: if you try to do what I did don't spend any extra money on it, an old PS2 mouse or keyboard cable will work just as well.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • boring packaging

Exactly what I needed

This cable connects directly to your sound card for PC sound card modes in ham radio. I didn't use the PTT line as I also have a CAT cable for PTT and rig control. The only problem I had that isn't really a problem is that there are two black wires in the cable. If you look closely, one of them is a shield. Why the earth is not connected to the shield is strange to me, but still. Just be careful when connecting data I/O as one of them requires a black wire.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons

CAREFULLY! Fake possible!

Updated February 17, 2016: Ham City has verified that this cable is not counterfeit. They discussed the problem with Yaesu. As it turned out, the photo shows an older version of this cable. The latest version has a molded strain relief and shorter open cable ends; this is NOT a fake. I have upgraded my rating from 1 star to 3 stars. This is not a 5 star product due to the high cost and because the wires used for audio are not individually shielded. In other words, this is the same cable used in

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Upgradable
