It's cute for a photoshoot, but that's about it. It's uncomfortable for the dog to wear because these parts get in the spider's way and it can't move, lie down, or do anything right. It really can be used on a dog or a cat. I just got it for a dog.

This is a good cat costume, but since it's designed for a cat, don't expect your cat to wear it for long. I put this costume on my cat Echo and the look of betrayal and hatred in his eyes was far more terrifying than his 8 fluffy spider legs. We needed a suit that we could easily dress our older cat Johnny. He tolerates this type of costume over those that require the legs and tail to be used as clothing, and absolutely hates anything that requires tying around the head. This suit is lightweight and simply sits on your back. It even moves across the carpet, causing the legs to wobble and move.
