This or the chug cap should be the standard cap on a Yeti Rambler bottle. A straw cap is very useful, especially when driving! No more worrying about liquid pouring out of a wide mouth, no more giant bottles blocking your vision while you drink water. I really love this thing, it's so comfortable.

Funny story for you. Used this on a trip to Colorado. I assumed it was caused by the change in altitude. When I opened my straw cap the water splashed on me and I got wet all over. The next time I used it I was at home and stayed at a consistent altitude and it did the same. My advice is to open it by pointing it away from you.

I have more Yeti items than I can count and have always recommended their items. I never thought they would come out with such a terrible product. When the straw is opened, the liquid is thrown out like a volcanic eruption. Trying to drink through a straw is like trying to drink Wendy's milkshake when you first get it. Hell, almost impossible. This lid works as advertised but is missing an important feature. Any increase in pressure in the bottle will cause the liquid to slosh out through the straw when it is first opened. To use it successfully, you need to detach the top before using the straw. A simple pressure release button or a hole to drain excess liquid on a flip-up straw solves the problem, but they're not on this cap. Things will create pressure that will make a mess when you flip the straw.
