A wonderful surprise.

I love this lens. I have Canon L series lenses and I wasn't expecting such excellent quality from a Yungnuo lens. It's noisy. But the box is great. It's all about the fast glass, right? Continuous. But there was no hood in the kit as shown in the photo. Very disappointed with it. I can't use it until I get it.

I can't recommend Terrible AF even for this price.

This lens is terrible! 90% of my pictures are blurry. Has nothing to do with my shutter speed as I can shoot at 1/1000, photos are still blurry. That's autofocus. It will "snap" and look fine on the LCD, but it does. If you transfer it to my computer or even my phone, the picture is horribly blurry. I just had to save money and buy a Canon 85mm.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I don't have much to complain about, it's ok

killer deal. You need to fine tune the camera.

This lens is inexpensive compared to its Canon counterpart, but my lens needs more than 35 points of suspension to get acceptable images. otherwise it is acceptably sharp. I haven't fine-tuned my camera's focus compensation yet. There is currently no lens profile for Lightroom correction. I am content with these things. Edit: Body set up and this lens is a killer deal!

disappointed good for DSLR lenses

Bought this lens for my adult daughter, a photographer, used less than a year, and now the lens does not focus, bought a square guarantee useless, they pull It doesn't seem to help me because there is an 8-day manufacturer's guarantee. Now there's an expensive lens that's useless, plus a guarantee through square offerings. I am waiting for the seller to reply me with information to solve this big problem and inconvenience.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Not such a good price now that Canon has come down in price

This is a pretty sharp lens for the price but the Canon 85mm can be bought for around $150 more. I also had occasional focus errors with this lens. But for peace of mind, I would put a native Canon lens instead of Yongnuo. Faster/more accurate/quieter focusing guaranteed is worth the extra cost. As with Sigma lenses, there is no guarantee that the lens will work correctly with future Canon bodies.

Better than I thought for the price

This lens captured the autofocus pretty well most of the time on my Canon 6D. Often has color fringing on the edges, but this can be corrected in post-processing when editing in Lightroom. Otherwise it was a great lens for me. It's fairly sharp at 2.8 but can be quite soft wide open. It's still more than helpful. The autofocus is a bit noisy and the overall speed isn't bad either. It's fast enough for everything I need. But overall it's a good portrait lens and I would recommend it to anyone…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far

still it's good if you shoot f2 and above and if .

At first I wasn't thrilled with the lens but after looking at the pictures on the computer I have to say I like it. Not very sharp at f/1.8 of course, but still good for shots from f2 and up and when you're close to the subject, at least that's my experience. The lens feels solid in your hands. It doesn't come with a hood, but if you read the description, the hood isn't included (always read the description, don't just limit yourself to pictures and you'll thank me later). Of course I would…

Good workmanship but very noisy and slow autofocus

So I'm always hesitant to buy cheap lenses and I really don't need an 85, it was more of a wish so I decided to take a chance and buy it try one. Outside. I tried to take about 200 random photos of my kids with my Canon EOS Mark 5D iii. The first thing I noticed was the volume. It feels like something is creaking very loudly in the lens. It's not a pleasant sound. I took several photos during the day and in the evening. He struggled with AF in photos with my baby in a blue shirt. I took about…
