Yubikey isn't supported as widely as the ads suggest.

Yubikey offers a native 2FA app with a 6-digit code that requires a Yubikey to unlock, so they will promote any website that runs standard apps with a 6-digit code who support Yubikey. Even websites that work with Yubikey often only work with Google Chrome, although Firefox supports it and there are plugins to add support for Safari. I am returning my Yubikey but may purchase it in the future when better maintained. I am frustrated with Yubico's dishonest marketing of my product.

Say goodbye to annoying text messages with verification codes

If you're like me, you hate constantly checking your messages and emails to make sure you're really yourself. That makes it a lot easier. It sits on your keychain and is as easy to use as anything I've ever bought. Most password managers (I use LastPass) have instructions on how to set them up, so you don't even need to know what you're doing. - they are phenomenal. Plus, if you're ever ripped off at a tech company interview, say hello with instant confidence.

Killed Mac Laptop

I am a tech savvy person who has worked with and repaired computers for decades. After following the instructions exactly (even if it required copy and paste terminal commands), the 2016 MacBook Pro wouldn't allow login. I had to "rip and lay" this thing. NOT ready for prime time.

Has potential, but.: Computers and accessories

Useful, but I got tired of plugging and unplugging the authentication key. I personally find it easier to use a phone authenticator app. If I could leave the device connected to the network and it would work stably that would be great, but I've never been able to get it to work stably with a number of websites. In my experience, Google's login authentication process is fuzzy, I have to wiggle the key for it to work. I like the idea, but the actual execution doesn't match my personal experience.

fantastic product.

This is an AWESOME product and looks like a failsafe way to protect yourself from intruders, but I feel like I'll have to kick myself to make sure my phone has NFC functionality (before I buy 2 NFC dongles ). it's not like this. To solve this, I just bought the USB-C version, only to find out that it doesn't fit in my phone's charging port (I'm a complete electronics idiot! Of course, I'm also happy to post my ignorance online). About $150 later (2 NFC keys and C key) I still can't unlock my…

Good product, easy setup, slight design flaws

I bought this dongle to use for the Google, LastPass and Duo MFA at my work place and it was positive and relatively easy to set up and use. After a few days of use, I will probably reach for the USB-A/NFC version for everyday use and use it as a backup. My primary devices are a Pixelbook (two USB-C ports) and a Moto X4 running Android 9. The device seems to identify itself as a keyboard when plugged into the port. Touching the gold/brass contacts on either side of the key enters and returns a…

Not ready now, maybe never, for prime time.

Don't buy these keys unless you work where they're needed most. The infrastructure that allows the average consumer to use them conveniently doesn't exist yet - and, frankly, maybe never will. For several years I've been trying to make security keys my primary login method. But the truth is that they can only serve as a supplement to established security mechanisms. You cannot use them to log into a Windows computer with a regular Windows account connected to the internet. You can use them to…
