Buttons stick in winter sports

Buttons stick, making it almost impossible to open without pliers to loosen the buttons. You might trust him with your suitcase, but not with your life.

Pros
  • Sport and Outdoor
Cons
  • Very expensive

NOT SAFE FOR AVALANCHE RESCUE

Impractical to open the handle, not good when it's snowing or freezing. NOT FOR AVALANCHE RESCUE. Light work, maybe digging in the warm snow? I returned mine.

Pros
  • Backcountry Gear
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Nice square shovel but not easy to lengthen.

Grip pull knob sticks in cold weather. I bought it because it's square. It fits nicely in my snow study backpack but found the button to stick on. I do extra work with my leatherman to pry it inwards to stretch it out.

Pros
  • Winter Sports Accessory
Cons
  • Difficult to see

Cheap renamed junk

Renamed Chinese junk. Looks cool in photos. But it's designed in such a way that the button will scratch the blade of the shovel if you try to extend it - it will stick and no doubt get worse in cold weather. Powder coating is very thin and has the rough texture of spray paint. Aluminum has sharp and uneven edges. The curvature has discontinuities that indicate a very poor quality of the bending/forming process. Snow shovels are not suitable for building sand castles. For safety reasons, do not

Pros
  • Sport
Cons
  • boring packaging

Works well in the sand on backcountry gear

Unlike most reviewers, I bought this specifically to remove sand from the mountain bike trails I ride. I was looking for something that would easily attach to a backpack and stay out of the way. This shovel fits. Despite the cheap construction, it withstood the abuse of scraping sand (and mixed with gravel) off the trail very well. Extending/folding the handle can be confusing, but it works. And yes, sand will get into the handle assembly and make it stick. A good rinse with water will do that.

Pros
  • Winter Sports
Cons
  • Protection
