Haven't tried it on a regular vehicle but great for removing and installing my lawn tractor battery for our Midwest winters. There's not a lot of room to tackle that particular lawnmower battery, so this works great. I'm not a big fan of taking the battery by the pole so I prefer that type/style. Very high quality, strong. Should easily last a lifetime and beyond.

This is a must-have item when you need to remove or move the battery. Before winter storage I found it very difficult to remove the battery from my Miata due to the hard to access battery compartment. Refitting your battery this spring just got a whole lot easier with this side lift. The lift was easy to use and kept the battery safe. I highly recommend this product. This is a great tool for removing car batteries from hard to reach places or when the battery doesn't have a grip. I recently had to remove the battery from a 2016 Cadillac XTS. This battery had no handle, and at the time my hands suffered serious lacerations and other injuries that would have made it uncomfortable to remove the battery by hand. This tool allowed me to remove the battery with one hand.

I just used this product to lift a heavy battery out of our 2017 Chevy Equinox. The battery has failed and will be replaced. This product was just what I needed to extract. I've tried to get the old battery out with gloves and (albeit small) muscles. Not enough space in the battery compartment. I put this clamp lifter on top, adjusted the rack and then lifted it up. Without this tool in the automotive industry, my back, arms and face would be in a bigger mess than it is now. This tool not only rids my hands of acidic electrolytes, but also makes it easier to transport old batteries/batteries with a wooden board cart. Once disassembled and placed in the rubbish bin on a trolley, reassembly is much easier to take from the appropriate shelf and place in the engine compartment.
