I bought one of these at work to use for laptop repairs and was so impressed with the variety of items that I bought it for home as well. My only complaint at the moment is that the plastic is a little soft so the sharp ends wear out quickly, but that's a good thing because if the plastic were really hard it could scratch the case finish.

Pros: - Huge selection of very useful tools and MOST of the tools are very good quality. - Good enough to withstand multiple jobs. Cons: - Some tools are definitely cheaper. Some of the plastic tools definitely cannot withstand heavier loads. All in all, nothing should stop you from buying this kit for most home improvement projects.

Ordered this to work with some electronics but have used them on a few other micro assembly projects as well. You get a lot in the kit, although some of them are situational. Durability is good but the tools are plastic so keep that in mind as they are built to be forgiving of small electronic components and metal cases. Recommended for repairing retro technology, modern mobile phones or simple electronic repairs on small devices.

If you're a professional, you probably already know what you need for work. You would not order a set of different opening tools. As a hobbyist, this opener set is great because it introduces you to the many different ways you can open (and keep open) electronic devices and plastic closures. Even if you only end up using 5 or 6 of these, it's worth the price just for the sheer amount of potential practicality packed into one bag.

I needed a 3-point screwdriver to take apart a Nintendo Wii, so I thought I'd add a few other tools that might come in handy, like tweezers and a spatula. Metal tools like tweezers are great. The plastic ones aren't very strong. I overestimated their strength and bent a few to get something out of the Wii. Plastic picks (petals) have a raised area in the middle that prevents them from being glued beyond a shallow depth (too shallow to fully break the glue on the back of the phone) Different types of plastic for different heat/stress needs, but i have no idea what's what, but I'm new to cell phone repair so maybe it's just general knowledge for those in the industry.

I've used them to open three different tablets so far. Two were Dragon Touch 7 inch tablets for kids. The parts in the kit that look like guitar picks are great for this. They deal with clamps quickly and do not damage the case. Then I grabbed the Galaxy 10 tablet.
