I wanted a magnifying mirror with a light that didn't need to be plugged in. At the moment the options are limited to these parameters. This mirror does what I need. Yes, I wish the light was a little brighter, but there's enough extra light to highlight the magnified areas for tweezing or makeup application. I also want it to have more magnification. My wife wanted a battery powered makeup mirror for Christmas. I bought this after a little research and she is very happy with it. It's not the brightest I've seen, but it gives off a moderately cool, comfortable light. Combined with top or ceiling lighting, it does the job perfectly. The finishes are quite good and go fairly well with our vintage nickel fittings and the mirrors are of good quality too. While not exactly high end, it is of good quality and complements our master bathroom decor.

The magnification/mirror itself is fine, but the light is so weak it's unnecessary. The company that sells this lighted vanity mirror cleverly doesn't specify the brightness of the bulb. This is NOT the 100 watt round bulb that Zadro sells in their other mirrors - it is very dim.
