This is an old fashioned vanity mirror with two sides, one enlarged and the other normal. I don't expect it to light up because it's "retro". The metal body is thick enough and feels solid, but the weakest part of this mirror is the underside of the base. UPDATE: Dimples have already appeared on the trim. I can not believe that. This mirror just sits untouched on the vanity in the guest bathroom.
