I ordered and received an adapter exactly as pictured. Perfect product, I especially like the possibility to choose what voltage I want to connect my fan to. Highly recommended!

I used this to add fans to a computer that only had a case fan connector on the motherboard and it works great! Although I have a few complaints. - The ports themselves are not labeled. If you look at the color of the wires, you can see their tension. Since 5V is red and 12V is yellow, I've determined that the white connectors are the slower 5V power option and the black connectors are the full speed 12V option. I'd rather they were all black. Deciding to cut parts costs to build my first computer from scratch, I ended up with a Micro-ATX motherboard. Problem? The mainboard only has one connection for my three case fans. This small detail solved my problems. There seems to be a little more juice flowing through the black connectors and getting the fans running at full speed, while the white connectors run the same fans at lower speeds.

My wife wanted me to put the computer in a computer tower rack that was part of our computer desk. These adapters are great for powering 120mm fans that I have installed on my desk. However, one of the wires popped out of the molex connector on the adapter, causing one of my desktop fans to not work. It took a minute to find the problem, plug it back in and we're back in business.

With two 12V lines and two 5V lines, larger fans can be connected to lower voltages that don't require as much speed to move air, while smaller fans can be used at 12V I don't know, since the product is not accompanied by a description, as far as I could tell. There was also nothing to complain about the power supply.

This product has two 5V ports as well as two 12V ports, you can use both for a plug-in fan (5V is meant to make the fans slower/quieter). In my case, the fans are on, so connecting 5V wasn't really an option (not that I wanted slower fans), it made the fans (or LEDs) click because they weren't getting enough power. However the 12v connections are great, smooth power supply is good! It's definitely worth getting this connector, especially when it's cheaper than a standard splitter.
