I have a handy Canon video camera and it doesn't have a cold shoe, so I bought this stabilizer to keep my hand from shaking and because this product has two cold shoes. Shoes and tripod mount I can add a microphone or light and place it on a tripod

Actually looking for separate parts to make something similar. The cost of this was about half and I got all the parts. I'm sure the quality of the individual parts was a little better, but this package is worth it. You can mix, match and make many things with the components.

After 1 week this product was selling at the seams (literally) not even figuratively. Literally bursting at the seams. The handles are attached with superglue. Gluing, they're not welded, they're not wedged. They are glued. Essentially, you're praying that your gear is safe for gluing. Well, my hardware broke because of this mount. My camera body had to be thrown away. Basically a $600 trash can. I saw all the good reviews, believed it and failed. I suggest that nobody buy this product.

I was hoping it had more metal components. Unfortunately, the only metal is the two bars - top and bottom. Everything else is plastic. Also, and this may be obvious, you can't center the phone between the grips. This is because the clip presses against the buttons on the phone. So you have to move your phone off center to compensate. So I need to drill a hole offset about an inch to the right. I then have to cut out that hole with a 1/4-20 so I can move the clip. I don't usually write reviews but I really like this stabilizer. I've used it multiple times over the course of several hours and it does everything I need it to do. The handle is comfortable, the stabilizer is light. I have an iPhone XS Max with a case and it holds the phone well and firmly. For the test, I shook the stabilizer pretty hard, but my phone still didn't move (which doesn't usually happen during recording, but shows how well done it is).
