Zheino 9.5mm Aluminum 2nd HDD Caddy Case Adapter for Universal Laptop Optical Bay CD/DVD-ROM - SSD/HDD Integration Review

I bought this PNY 250GB SSD docking station for my old Toshiba Satellite C55D-B5203 (2014) to replace my old hard drive. I placed the SSD in the area of a regular laptop hard drive and installed the old drive in this new docking station. It works very well so far. It has a blue LED indicator, it just stays on and doesn't blink while the disc is being written/read.

Purchased for use in a Dell server. So far everything is functional. 1 star deducted because of the red LED. It appears to be the Power LED as it is not blinking or changing color. I would prefer no LEDs as a red or orange LED on the server means something bad. I don't really like the fake optical disc faceplate either. In fact, if the front panel were completely blank, that would be perfect!

If you have the right screwdrivers, it is easy to install. worked perfectly with the original hard drive that was in the computer. The only problem is that the side of the computer is left open to air and dust as I couldn't figure out how to remove the original CD tray end cap to attach this unit. The product didn't work with all of my mechanical drives in laptops from two different manufacturers (Toshiba and Asus). I've tried the toggle on the side on all channels with no success. 12.7mm height is perfect for the Dell Optiplex 3010 SFF PC. The CDRW drive has been replaced with a 2.5" SSD and should also accept a regular 2.5" hard drive.
