These Zig calligraphy pens are the best. I am a professional artist and art teacher. Decorating certificates and artwork with quality pens is my thing and these pens have saved my creative expression many times over the last 15 years (at least)! The black ink is always of excellent quality and the nibs will last for months with occasional use. I use both ends. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • Archival Quality, Lightfast, Acid Free
Cons
  • Some flaws

GOOD INK, hard tips

Ink bleeds well and evenly when writing on envelopes. The wide side is too wide to address envelopes. I like that the cap is worn over another cap when writing. My only difficulty is getting smooth, flowing curves as the tips are very stiff without the slightest kink. However, because it's very stiff, I can use the angle of the tip to write finer. If the tips were a little softer I would give five stars.

Pros
  • Water-based ink that doesn't bleed, is photo-safe and waterproof
Cons
  • So far, so good

Good pen for art projects, very bad for photography

I was very disappointed with this pen. I try to archive my photos for last, there aren't many acid free photo safe pens to choose from. Because of this, I was very disappointed when I noticed that the pen bled out after drying. (It takes a few minutes to dry, by the way.) I tried it on gloss and matte and both bled. You won't notice the seepage unless you lift the photo, it's imperceptible when resting on something. I assume you'll probably notice this when scanning, but I haven't tried it…

Pros
  • Marker dual tip with 2.0mm narrow tip and 5.0mm wide tip
Cons
  • Out of fashion
