Solid Brass or Bust

I have had many different models of Zippo lighters over the past 30 years and have found the solid brass Zippo lighter to be the most reliable Zippo lighter. I don't know why a solid brass lighter is important, but a solid brass lighter doesn't seem to be as cheap as other lighters in the Zippo range. Spinning the wheel to make it glow makes the solid brass Zippo feel more tactile. I've had issues with other non-brass zippos that gave less than 100% coverage every time. I don't know why there…

Best Classic Lighter

I was looking for a cheap lighter that was better quality than dollar store lighters and just looked classy overall and I definitely found it. No wonder it's made by Zippo, but I was definitely surprised at how much I love this lighter. I don't smoke but sometimes I need a fire starter or I need to light the end of a rope and this lighter helps. less evaporation - Looks smooth and forms a nice patina - Totally comfortable to play with Cons: - Lighter fluid tends to evaporate, but I would say…

Great but. Best in Lighters

The lighter is excellent. I have matte brass but I chose this brass because it is so beautiful. The body color is dead on Revane's photos. The date on the case is D 21 and the insert is C 21. The insert is a very, very clean "brass" color, but like most Zippo brass inserts I'm sure that it will fade over time. The lighter came with a flint and the flint screw was not very tight. The hinges are of course 5-barrel, very new and have some rough edges (surprisingly the same as my 1949 Zippo, but…

Zippo: Quality never goes out of style.

Well I've had this Zippo Armored Brass lighter for about six or seven months now and I carry it with me almost every day. Carrying it in the bag and handling it many times with the original polished shiny brass finish has resulted in a fine tarnished patina giving it a vintage look which is just what I like. It's really rarely used, but I like to carry it in my pocket and use it every Sunday night when I smoke my weekly cigar. Yes, I know true cigar lovers would roll their eyes at the thought…

MADE IN USA but came with scuffs - read updates

UPDATE 3: Owned for less than a month and only used 4 times. Hasn't been dropped or disassembled. Kept in a pocket in a case along with my cigar cutter. The suitcase has serious defects. See photos. UPDATE 2: Another star lowered to 3. Look at the two photos of the open lighter. One pushes the insert, the other pops it out. Over time, the bet is pushed up. I believe this is because the "click" switch gets stuck on the brass cover when opening and closing. The marks and indentations are visible…

Excellent Lighter (POLISHED HARD BRASS) Reg and Thin RIPPO

I decided to return to Zippo and wanted to start replacing the ones I had lost over the years. Namely this polished model stamped "Solid Brass". It's beautiful, and clicks just as cleanly and shines just as nicely as my 90's original. I don't know who has my old one but you can keep it lol. I won't lose it I like polished brass because it "ages" with use. It starts out as a gleaming golden mirror and becomes "perfect" years later. The only difference I can tell is that the "Solid Brass" stamp…
