Easy to Use: Filter Accessory

I use this for my rather large red-eared crab. This helps keep the water clean and I clean the tank once a week, rinse the filter and well it lasts a month before I need a new one.

Pros
  • Designed for excellent waste absorption.
Cons
  • Useless functions

Honestly this is a great product. However, the plastic nozzle keeps getting hairline cracks and I'm forced to make a whole new block instead of the part myself. If there is any suggestion or direction anyone knows. Please comment. I'm sick of this but a brand new filter unit for a piece of plastic. Next to…. It does the job of filtering.

Pros
  • 3 pack of Zoo Med Turtle Clean 15 charcoal cartridges
Cons
  • Basically everything is fine but...

manufacturer recommended. for aquarium pumps and filters

Exactly what the manufacturer said. recommends replacement. Pretty pricey when you need one every month, but I haven't noticed other manufacturers selling similar sized charcoal pellets. The "Filter" itself is a 4-level system; The packet of charcoal pellets is only stage 3. I clean everything often and to save money I rinse the bag of charcoal with water and REUSE it a second time. I hope the turtle doesn't mind.

Pros
  • Made from high-quality carbon filling.
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

These activated carbon inserts make it possible

These activated carbon cartridges work well with our Turtle Clean 15 and Turtle Clean 30 canister filters. The bag makes them easy to rinse, insert into the canister and remove again. Even with 3 turtles and about 20 gallons of water, 30 will keep the tank clean for over a month after the system settles down. However, I advise against reusing the activated carbon insert under these conditions, as even with a thorough cleaning of the canister, the water will not remain clean for long.

Pros
  • Designed to absorb harmful ammonia that can cause health problems.
Cons
  • A few little things
