I have had a Bialetti moka pot before and have made a lot of good coffee with it. Unfortunately it was dishwasher safe and ruined so I decided to give it a try for only $20. I should have just taken the original. I've tried brewing coffee twice now and both times the water just boiled in the pot and small drops of coffee fell from the top. Instructions say hand wash to start, so here we go. . In fact, you can see different parts near the handle where the painted metal coating is not complete and some white shows through. whatever that cover is. In today's dishwasher world, this is definitely not the best type of product to try and sell as 'metal'. for something dishwasher safe, even if I have to pay a bit more.

This pot is too small to fit over the grate of my gas stove. which means it's dangerously unreliable and could leak if I'm not looking at it. I'm actually not sure how to properly use this to make an espresso either because the instructions are unclear, it says to take it off the heat as soon as it starts boiling but if you do that it will be a large amount of water give links in the bottom half and I don't think it should work that way. I've had a few problems. When I first got the pot, I had a hard time figuring out how to make sure it didn't leak everywhere. When I found that the gasket just had to sit perfectly on the rim and the top half had to be tightened to the bottom (hard), I was able to fix that particular problem. I also bought a white one not knowing how badly it will stain if it leaks. I haven't figured out how to remove all stains yet. Another problem is that the pan does not heat up quickly in any way.
