Broadly speaking, the vacuum is "OK" in most respects, except for one defect, which is pretty significant for a vacuum cleaner. The defect is that the 2- point mechanism for locking the power head to the debris canister does not seal the head tightly to the canister. When you got to pick up the vacuum you're aware that the power head moves first and then the canister, where you'd expect the whole machine would move as one.I expect that when the canister is pressurized fine dust is blowing out of the vacuum and back into the air through this weak point, and i know larger particles certainly are being carried up into this area too. I noticed this when , after vacuuming the garage of sawdust, wood chips and dirt, I picked up the vacuum, carried it to a clean spot, and set it down. The smaller particles I'd just vacuumed up came raining down, surrounding the vacuum. Removing the power head revealed lots of this debris sitting on the external horizontal flange that's right below rim of the canister, just waiting to fall off the next time I picked up the vacuum.I expect a vacuum to keep the debris within the canister until I choose to empty it instead of ejecting material back onto the area I just cleaned.
