This is my fifth pair of Altrs. Highly recommended

The zero drop and shape of the foot was a game changer! I suffered from shin splints for many years but once I put on the right shoes they went away and never came back. GREAT!

Pros
  • Reduces leg fatigue
Cons
  • Can cause leg fatigue on long walks

Fits like a slipper, just what I need for marathon walks

I usually wear a size 9. The extra wide toe box was perfect for the 9.5. I sent back the first order it was 8.5 but after a few days I received my 9.5. The best hiking shoes I've ever had.

Pros
  • Suitable for all types of running including trail and road running.
Cons
  • Bad quality for the high price

I recommend this shoe.

Although I had to go 1/2 (11 1/2) sizes up, the shoes fit perfectly. It's super light and comfortable with no break-in period. So far, I am very satisfied.

Pros
  • Offers maximum grip on any surface
Cons
  • Can fail and lead to trip hazards

Excellent hikers in my rating.

After many pairs and generations of Lone Peaks, I've tried a few of these. As much as I love Lone Peaks, I love them even more for the fact that they walk on sidewalks. I am a very lucky convert!

Pros
  • Offers a natural gait with a zero drop design.
Cons
  • Can be difficult to put on and take off

favorite for comfort

This is a gift as my son says these are the most comfortable shoes he has ever had. He asked for another pair. He usually takes 11, but he needed 12 in this one, so he seems a bit short.

Pros
  • They're great for wide feet, and they're actually shaped like a foot...or at least my foot. Run 30-40 miles a week
Cons
  • The tongue of the shoe is thin and has no padding. Unfavorable

For people with wide feet.

These are my favorite shoes, they are comfortable to be on my feet all day and at work and the wide toe box with no drop makes them great for lifting weights. However, I personally prefer more cushioning when running. In them you really feel every step. I have wide feet and high arches and I work on my feet all day. I used to have chronic pain in my legs, switching to Altra has made me pain free for 3 years.

Pros
  • Compatible with orthopedic insoles.
Cons
  • Can be slippery when wet

Hot Leg material is the best in my rating

For a long time there was an Escalante 2.0. The best footwear. It's plastic. Hot sweaty feet. Won't breathe Terrible. Never!

Pros
  • Multicolored options available for style preferences
Cons
  • May cause calf cramps

How is that possible?

These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn! pillow. Support. Toe box... I DID NOT IMAGINE this being found in a shoe! I will definitely buy more!🙌🙌🙌

Pros
  • Responsive insole with stabilization features
Cons
  • May cause discomfort with aggressive movements

Very comfortable - no problem with the language

I've been wearing Altra for years. I can't say I love every new version of the Altra models I wear, but the Torin 5 has always worked well for me. The finger box is adequate and I didn't feel any uncomfortable rubbing from the tongue as some have pointed out. However, I did notice that the tongue was a bit stiff out of the box, but things softened up a bit after a week of wearing. Not only do these shoes look great (all white with orange laces), they're incredibly comfortable, as you'd expect…

Pros
  • Smooth Appearance
Cons
  • May cause skin irritation in some people

My fingers hurt when I rate it

The shoes for some reason seem to push my heels forward and make my toes dig into the front of the shoe. I can push my heel back, but it just doesn't work when walking. No problem with the shoe size. It's strange because the rest of the shoe seems good but unsuitable for me.

Pros
  • Increases reaction time
Cons
  • Poor cushioning for a comfortable step

Great boot. Terrible language.

I've been wearing Altras since the early days of Instinct. I love the zero drop design. I've been wearing Torins since 2018 and average 30 miles a week on trails and the beach. The Torin 5 is an incredibly comfortable shoe that fits my foot perfectly. But the tongue is made of a hard material with a sharp (not soft) edge. It digs into the front of my ankle with every step, even as my toes go over my tongue. What a shame that a poor design choice ruins an outstanding shoe. I really hope they fix

Pros
  • Offers excellent breathability
Cons
  • Not smart enough for formal occasions

Extreme slide with Torin 4

First, the tongue is made of medium-hard plastic and digs a little into the toe. The upper part of the sock turns gray after a month of use 3 days a week.

Pros
  • The tongue is tough and will cut into you, so cut it off first
Cons
  • Not even close to leg shape. Altra has abandoned its core demographics. Time to switch to Topo Athletic.

Good, but not outstanding: my review

I have had several pairs of Altra shoes and this was the first pair that did not fit me. I like that they are lightweight but overall they are smaller and not as good as other pairs I've had.

Pros
  • Ideal for walking and jogging
Cons
  • Not suitable for cold weather conditions

Revainrating 5 out of 5

As comfortable as I find

Usually my first few runs in new shoes are accompanied by numbness and pain in my legs. This is my first pair of Altras and they will be my new running shoe!

Pros
  • Comes with removable insoles for customized support
Cons
  • Stock availability for common sizes is limited.

Worn out after 3 short runs (1.5 months)

Comfortable and very light, but the fabric on the top wears out after just a month and a half of light use. Right after the return window

Pros
  • Offers sufficient grip in wet and dry conditions
Cons
  • Not suitable for people with plantar fasciitis

This is the first time I buy Altru.

Good sneakers. The 0 Drop is a nice feature on this shoe that takes some getting used to, but feels natural when running. The tongue is the only downside as other reviews have said, but it can be dealt with with larger running socks. Update: The shoes started falling apart after only a few miles with them. The plastic part on the back started to fall apart. The sole is practically new. Still a work shoe, some of the design I would say is bad.

Pros
  • Stylish look
Cons
  • Can cause foot odor problems

Great shoes for running or walking

This show has toe room, my god why don't other shoes have toe room. Also one of the most supportive and comfortable shoes I've ever worn.

Pros
  • Non-slip sole
Cons
  • May cause calf cramps with prolonged use

Really handy POS

This is by far the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. So why the 2 star rating? It's also the worst-made shoe I've ever worn. I have had over 6 pairs of these shoes and each pair lasted about 3 months. They are so poorly constructed that I don't usually wear them outside. I only wear them to the gym. Despite this, the lower pads are coming off the boots and the tow box is torn and worn in several places. Each shoe is washed in the same place after exactly 3 months. As convenient as they are,

Pros
  • Improved midfoot support for stability
Cons
  • May cause discomfort if standing for long periods

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Ok but not great!

Was traveling with a Torin 4.5 Plush and just upgraded to this. appear more elastic and less elastic. Everything fits, except that the sock height feels a little smaller (less elastic?). The length and width of the hitch is okay, just a little more pressure on the big toe, but it doesn't bother. The tongue is the same/similar to the Timp 4 that I use on the trails. Unlike the Torin 4.5 Plush, I don't have any tongue issues. However, I prefer the softer feel of the Torin 4.5 Plush and Timp 4…

Pros
  • Available in half sizes
Cons
  • Can leave marks on the ground

Not your Thorin 4.5s

Overall rating on a scale of 1 to 5: 3. Before purchasing Torin 5, I was a consistent user of Torin 4.5. The most comfortable running shoes I've ever had. Tons of support, tons of pillows. These little ones taught me to run with a midfoot/forefoot kick. What I liked even more about the 4.5s is that they haven't lost their usefulness after the end of the pillow/shoe lifecycle. I used my old 4.5 as a home work shoe or transition shoe when I needed to wear cleats as a referee but needed a…

Pros
  • Cushioning system to prevent pain and injury
Cons
  • Limited color options available
