Description of Chemex Bonded Filter - Natural Square - 100 ct - Exclusive Packaging: Enhancing Your Coffee Brewing Experience

Cotton. Made in US. Step 1: Place the funnel in the top portion of the CHEMEX coffeemaker, with 3 layers on the groove side. The groove is an air vent (and also the pouring spout) and allows air to escape from the lower portion of the coffeemaker, letting the coffee filter. Step 2: Put coffee in the filter paper cone. Use one heaping tablespoon per cup of coffee (adjust to personal taste if needed after first brew). Refer to brewing instructions for remaining steps. THICKER: 20-30 percent thicker than the competition, specialty fiber filter design keep bitter elements, oils, and grounds in their place (and out of your cup). Fits all CHEMEX Coffeemakers except CM-1, CM-1C, CM-1GH.

Shop elsewhere at Coffee & Espresso Machine Parts & Accessories

These filters are about as basic as it gets. This is a square of unbleached paper. It fits easily in the Chemex coffee maker. I recommend them. I would not use them again. One of their purposes is to absorb some of the bitter oil extracted from the beans. I've read where people wash and reuse them. The? The only thing I would caution against is to buy them here at Revain. Even at Whole Foods, they're $100 for $10. Go to your local hardware store or grocery store and pick them up. The prices…

Ordering directly from chemex, is that expensive and counterfeit?

Inferior quality and more expensive than the original. They felt fake, like it was real paper and not the typical filter media, and they had a strong papery taste (even after rinsing with hot water). I ordered my next box directly from Chemex and the material was noticeably different. It was thicker, more cloth-like, and didn't leave a papery aftertaste. Plus, after tax and shipping, it was still $5 cheaper than ordering through Amazon Prime.

REUSABLE! for disposable filters

I haven't read other reviews but has anyone noticed that these should NOT be thrown away after a single use?!? Pour out the residue, rinse and let dry. VOILA! You have a coffee filter for the next day! And the next. and next. I don't want to sound cheap but I'm on my fifth day and everything is working fine. No tears or slow dripping. I felt guilty for ordering about the landfills and caring about the world and blah blah (I swear I recycle) but I read that metal and copper suck so I went down…

thin and papery

I have been using Chemex for over 8 years and have always used bleached/white filters. Sometimes round, sometimes square. No matter what I buy, they always impress me. They were of consistently good quality. This time I chose a natural model and was very disappointed. The filters feel thinner than I'm used to, allowing the filter to fold easily into the groove of the spout. The biggest problem, however, is the taste: I rinsed them in hot water, just like the filters I'm used to; but these…

Very disappointed in these

I received Chemex 10 cup translucent filters for Christmas 2017 and am very impressed with them. They soaked up a lot of acid and gave the water enough time to brew a delicious cup of coffee! I decided to buy these unbleached filters when I was running out of others. It is nothing different from other filters. #1 is smooth paper, #2 - coffee filters much faster, #3 - they are very similar to old paper bath towels. White filters remind me of thicker lab towels - they are much stronger and more…

Easy to use, bad taste (gives flavors)

I ordered these brown filters. I used to use a stainless steel filter but wanted to try something different mostly for cleaning. Taking a paper filter and tossing it in the compost seemed like a much better idea than scraping the stainless steel thick, rinsing it, and then putting it in the dishwasher. I read that some reviews said the coffee had a flavor when using filters so I wanted to try and see for myself. So I took two mornings and used everything the same, coffee and everything, down to

Make the perfect cup of coffee every morning

As a new coffee connoisseur, I really enjoy the idea of making coffee in a Chemex pot with these paper filters. I particularly like that they appear to be more natural, biodegradable options for coffee production and really filter out any bitterness in the coffee, resulting in a superior cup of coffee. I use pre-ground, store-bought coffee (please rate, I'm new to this) but this Chemex filter and pot combo makes the cheap taste smooth and delicious. I love the slow and conscious practice of…

Cons
  • So far so good

First of all, the description says 'pack of 2', but it is only one pack of 100pcs pack, not 2 packs of 100pcs (200pcs total). Second, I've ordered these filters before when they were cheaper, at the original price, and they've been great. Now I wish I could give this filter a 5 star rating (because I used to love these filters) but the price has gone up significantly and I paid a lot of money just to get them and found that the quality has also dropped significantly. I saw someone write a…

Just like the ones you find in stores!

A while back I bought a Chemex kettle and a box of 100 filters. It took me a while to use up these filters, but I had to buy a new box. They arrived quickly. Exactly the same as in the last box. I always rinse the filter with hot water before use. No questions. There are 99 left to order the next box. I've considered buying a permanent metal filter but there have been many comments about how they don't quite match the Chemex I have and other comments about having to change the amount of coffee…
