Fits exactly Mercruiser 5.0 with Thunderbolt IV - 1985 Chris Craft

. The wire colors were exactly the same and I was able to install this generator in about 20 minutes. I dropped it off last week and it worked great. I've played it for about 90 hours and everything is fine.

Doesn't work, but looks great!

Used on a 1984 Sea Ray with Mercruiser 228. Casting, pulley and overall finish is really good! It looks and feels like a solid generator! However, when it comes to ship generators, looks don't really matter. Mine only lasted 2 1/2 rides. Yes, I checked that all my connections are clean before installation to avoid damage. Sometimes I like to see if cheap is good enough, in this case it's not. So I guess I'll go for OEM. I gave two stars for the work in two trips.

beautiful . . . for starters and alternators

So my Mercruiser 5.7 has 260hp. 1989 with EI everything went smoothly - no problems. The wiring is unclear, but after looking at it for about 90 seconds, everything became clear. purple to purple, red to red, and then two more wires on the only two pins configured to accept cords. After a week it works fine - the ammeter reads about 14. I don't expect this unit to last as long as the OEM, especially in a marine environment, but for the money you can't go wrong I would say.
