The new Ladder Mittens look nothing like the old ones. As you can see from the photo they are not tight. When it rains, they act like a sponge and fill up with water. I used them on a small stair for a few months and because the foam isn't strong they cracked. I only use them when I go indoors, so they don't get used that often. This is Katherine's Husband: I was a little apprehensive about buying these gloves for my stairs due to the size of my stair handrails. They fit the thickness perfectly, but were a bit too big for the 2.5 inch width (the width of the stairs). These gloves are truly made for industrial size ladders that are 3" wide rails.
