Too much plastic best in my review

Nice looking unit. Runs quiet. Too much plastic on the belt sand part but it seems that is the case with about everything Belt sander can be difficult to align properly.

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Belt sander can be difficult to align properly

A steal at this price

We needed a belt sander and the disk was a nice bonus. The only complaint I have is the removable table, it's flimsy and needs to be checked with a square frequently.

Pros
  • The overall design and build quality of the sander ensure that it's durable and long-lasting, providing reliable performance for years to come
Cons
  • Motor can wear out quickly with constant use

Like it but. good for me

I am SO glad I skipped the HF models. However, there's just a few concerns about this model. I couldn't afford the $1K model I drooled over so this was my choice. I was able to get the tables leveled but it REALLY bugs me that the opposite side does not have a rest but instead just sits out there in mid air. The tracking can be dialed in but there is still room for it to get off track while working. There are times I am accidentally hitting the little wall on the right and it will cause a…

Check alignment of tables to the belts/disc

I bought this item to replace a tool that had worn out. When I received it I set about setting it up. I realized that the table for the disc could not be set at 90 degrees to the disc. There was runout of 1/8" or more between the table alignment at the base to the top of the sanding disc area. I have tried to deal with the vendor but so far have not had a solution. If you buy from Buck check all the parameters.

Pros
  • ‎Corded Electric
Cons
  • Belt sander belt can slip off easily

Missing minor part: my feedback

I got this machine to grind metal for modifying knives. Out of the box, it seems to be of much higher quality than the Craftsman machine I have. That would stall with pretty light pressure - this has much better power. I've used it already to grind an edge on a bowie clip with an 80 grit ceramic belt with no problem. One shortcoming of the machine is that I can't use the old HandAmerican slack belt accessory with it to create convex edges like I can with the Craftsman. The only reason I didn't…

Purchased before it was a hot seller - not dissappointed!

I did a bunch of research and pricing on these bench sanders. I needed a cheap and reliable unit that I could use for hogging out wood and potentially aluminum. The piece is cheap, but in the right areas, and well crafted in the right ones too. I wanted this one specifically because it was a direct drive unit. No belts or secondary step mechanics in operation. I haven't even used it yet and I'm very satisfied with it. Testing soon!My only complaint is that the sanding table is hollow. That…

Pros
  • The 5.0A power supply helps the sander perform optimally, ensuring quality results every time
Cons
  • Not suitable for sanding painted or finished surfaces

Refurbished not new and still missing parts.

Just received my bucktool BD4603 and in the box I am missing the belt backstop and the 2 hex bolts. This is what i feared ordering this as it seams to be a common issue. The first thing I noticed although was it looks like I received a refurbished unit instead of the NEW unit I ordered. This is total crap. This is not how you build a reputable brand. The unit seams to operate ok, this is just not what I paid for.*UPDATE*Returned product through Best Buy and got a new unit in less than a week…

Pros
  • Sanders
Cons
  • Not suitable for sanding curved surfaces

Great to my workshop

Very pleased with the Bucktool belt/disc sander. I tried and returned less expensive other brands and decided to go for a reasonably priced, more powerful model. This one has been great for me. Belt and disc changing are straight-forward. The direct drive makes it a few inches larger some other configurations but is mechanically simpler and delivers more power to both sanding surfaces.

Pros
  • TWO-IN-ONE SANDING MACHINE: This sander meets CSA standards, two-in-one sanding machine includes both a 4 x 36-inch belt and a 6-inch disc, the angle adjustable work table with miter gauge can be used on both sanding disc and belt
Cons
  • Belt tracking can be problematic

Good enuff for the girls I go out with!

Well balanced and quiet sander. The tables and stops are kind of flimsy and there is more plastic than I'd really like, but it runs quiet and stable and is plenty strong enough for my needs (Garage weekend warrior shop). Dust collection is pretty cruddy, but that seems to be standard on all sanders anyhow. No complaints, seems to be a good tool for the low price.

Pros
  • The sander is designed to collect and remove debris, improving visibility and keeping the work surface clean
Cons
  • Not suitable for sanding uneven pieces

Performs Well best in my review

This unit is a little noisy but a good performer. You will pay a lot more money for a quieter unit. If your application is one of intermittent use the noise is not a deal breaker. If your application requires the sander to be running for an hour or more your choices are spend more or wear earplugs. Let your budget be the determining factor

Pros
  • I'm a professional Carpenter and this is a very good sander. High quality.
Cons
  • Dust collection system is not very efficient

Good product for the money

Had an old Craftsmen sander for many years and it gave up so bought a cheap one at Harbor Freight. Waste of money, then saw this one, has been great like it better than the Craftsman for my needs making wood toys.

Pros
  • The comprehensive user manual and easy setup make the sander a breeze to get started with
Cons
  • Belt sander can leave visible scratch marks on the wood

Works good for polishing rocks.

Bot this for my dad. He uses it for his rock tumbling. He told me it works great. The machine doesn’t come with a dust collector, but the company just got ahold of me a and are sending connecter, snd tubbing for free.Update. I received the the connector tubing, it fits, little loose but I just put some tape on it, no big deal. It is nice having all the shavings and dust collecting into one spot.

Pros
  • The sander's direct-drive system minimizes maintenance and ensures easy operation
Cons
  • Disc sander can be difficult to change sandpaper

great belt /disk sander for all my home projects!

I like that the Bucktool is 3/4 hp where most in this price range are 1/2 hp. Its also direct drive so no belts to break. I do wish it had come with two miter gauge tables instead of having to move the one from the belt to the disk, but its ok, i'm not in that big of a hurry.

Pros
  • Equipped with a 3/4HP direct-drive motor, the sander can handle even the toughest sanding tasks with ease
Cons
  • Motor can emit a burning smell during use

Great tool at a reasonable price

Just starting out with woodworking, I had shopped for a belt sander quite extensively. I was looking for a RIKON when this particular machine came up. Having everything I was looking for and at a price that was great, I went ahead and purchased. This thing has been awesome! I have yet to bog it down while using. Having a larger belt and disc is also helpful when working a larger piece. I didn't want to go the 8" disc route since those disc's are quite expensive to replace. This tool was…

Pros
  • MAINTENANCE-FREE: This sanding belt and disc were directly driven by the motor shaft, you need not adjust the belt tension, and you don't have to change the damaged belt like before
Cons
  • Belt sander table can be wobbly

Nice machine. - my new review

Bought as a Christmas gift 8 months ago. Son is very happy with it. Uses in his shop daily. Zero problems That's my feedback!

Pros
  • ‎2022 Model
Cons
  • Belt sander can create noticeable grooves in the wood

supports need help in my review

The support for the tables are flimsy and would not hold correct angles. It is a must to be bolted down to make stable. Other wise, good tool.

Pros
  • ‎BD4603 - DIRECT DRIVE
Cons
  • Disc sander table can be too small for certain tasks

Five star tool!: my feedback

I purchased one of these Buck sanders in 2019 and have been very happy with it. Now that they are finally back on Best Buy. I purchased a second. The new tool performs exactly as well as the original. The only grip I have is that the exhaust port used to hook up a shop vac hose. has three plastic bars across the opening. Unfortunately, they get clogged up quickly when sanding big jobs. I simply cut them out and have had ZERO clogs.Do yourself a favor. and get one today before they go another…

Pros
  • The versatile sander can be used for various sanding applications, including wood, metal, plastics, and more
Cons
  • Disc sander can be difficult to align properly

Looks/feels well built and sturdy

I am super pleased so far with the quality of this sander. I bought this to replace an old Porter Cable model that died some time ago. Build quality is at least as good as the Porter Cable (if not better), with even more power to cut through moderate resistance while sanding. Installing and adjusting belts is also stupid easy. What ultimately drove me to spend just a bit more on this (vs your basic models) was the direct drive - fewer moving parts means more power delivered to the wheel/belt…

Pros
  • The belt changing system is quick and easy, allowing for multiple grits to be used seamlessly
Cons
  • Belt sander can generate a lot of heat

great machonhe on my review.

Did what I needed done, my only recommendation is the rollers should be made out of aluminum and not plastic. I had a bad experience with the plastic ones, not this machine, but another.

Pros
  • The upgraded model offers improved performance compared to the previous iteration, making it a powerful addition to any workshop
Cons
  • Not suitable for sanding small or intricate pieces

Missing important parts (update)

This belt sander seems to be the favorite among wood workers, which was the reason i chose to buy. However, after opening the box i was pretty upset and disappointed.First, the box was in bad shape from shipping and when I unboxed I found the brand new sander loosely moving around between both packing foams. I didnt think much of it but after inspecting it, I found a large gouge on the top of the motor housing and a few minor ones on the disk sander plate. Either i recieved a refurbished…
