Well designed, quality product

I was really impressed with this router plane! It is VERY nicely machined, and well designed. I didn't expect it to be so good at this price point. My compliments to this company!

Pros
  • It works, but the blade is tough to get to a good sharp edge.
Cons
  • The blade may easily become dull with frequent use

Definitely worth the money

I'm a hobbyist, and this router plane suits my needs just fine. Easy to adjust, and easy to dissemble for sharpening. There are better tools on the market but at this price point, it's a good buy.

Pros
  • Planers
Cons
  • Cannot be used for freehand cuts

worked like it should right out of the box.

The only thing I found wrong with this item is the words. Made In China. I actually didn't know it would be made in china when I bought it but it is a good product. The adjustment knob is looser than I would have wanted but it worked so far. Will build one, just because I can, and make improvements in my mind.

Pros
  • Good price easy to use
Cons
  • The handheld design may cause unstable cuts

Well built tool. best in my review

This is a great little tool to have. Works great. I bought extra cutters for it and they are razor sharp. Good for small detail work.

Pros
  • Seems to work well. Does what it is suppose to
Cons
  • Single-use product, not suitable for multi-purpose tools

Fantastic router plane.

The router is pretty fantastic. I like the simplicity of its design and once sharpened it works pretty well. For my current project, I'm building a timber framed farmhouse style trestle table for a customer, I needed a wider base for the router. I bought a couple of metric machine screws that were about 10 mm longer and were long enough to go through the oak base I quickly cut out and reach the top nuts in the handle. It works just as well as some of the larger Stanley's I've seen used in Paul…

Pros
  • Easily adjustable blade with the screw
Cons
  • No built-in dust collection, causing a mess during use

Awesome tool! - my new review

Awesome tool for wood door installations. It’s a really a "manual router”, easy to use and makes perfect cuts, I use it mostly to install pocket doors. Practice on a 2 x 4, mark a latch plate, scribe it with a utility knife and try the router plane. I also use it for many different wood work projects, once you master it.👍🏼

Pros
  • A quality tool at a fair price. I am very happy with the Cowryman router plane.
Cons
  • Noisy when in use

Better than expected.

Reliable tool that performs as expected. Added larger wood base to allow routing larger areas. Well made but smaller than expected.

Pros
  • This plane is a must for hand working wood to perfection.
Cons
  • Expensive compared to other woodworking tools

Solid entry level router plane

I purchased this router plane for recessed electrical components on wood projects. Primarily it's for battery capacity indicators. The router was not coated with protective oils and the blade was quite sharp.I immediately swapped out the wing nut for the lever that was included. The lever works well and holds the blade very securely.Adjustment is a bit sloppy and will take some getting used to. As you can see in the picture, there is a pretty large gap where the adjustment but fits into the…

Pros
  • ‎Stainless Steel
Cons
  • May require frequent adjustments during use

Originally I was a bit dismayed when I opened the package and saw the size I have big hands, make a fist and that's about it. But that's on my for not double checking the conversion. HOWEVER, this little thing works great. The blade was sharp right out of the box, didn't need to tune it (smooth out and level the bottom plate). Works excellent. I don't have dado blades on my table saw (nor do I own a band saw), so most times I make multiple pass on the table saw to remove waste wood when making…

Pros
  • ‎003-CAN-RP
Cons
  • Not suitable for cutting angles or profiles

Nice Quality Little Tool

This is a well made little plane. It arrived sharp and square and ready to use. However, it is tiny. The base is too small to be stable for some operations. Cowreyman makes a larger version but at twice the cost. I plan to make a sub-base for when I need more stability. There are two narrower blades available, but not wider ones.

Pros
  • ‎1.19 pounds
Cons
  • Blade may be easily damaged during transport or storage

Nice small router plane!

At first it took me a little while to figure out how to use this router plane and I don’t feel that the videos from Cowryman help in this endeavor. Once I got the hang of it it’s a wonderful little router that is well made.

Pros
  • Precision
Cons
  • The blade may become dull quickly with excessive use

Surprisingly nice for my opinion

Works great and sharp out of the box. I had to fill some holes with hard maple plugs and cut them flush in a pickup pocket on a bass body. Worked perfectly.

Pros
  • ‎5.04 x 4.29 x 3.62 inches
Cons
  • Blade may become loose during use

I am not enough of a woodworker to spend over $150 on a premium brand router plane and this tool gets the job done. for the most part. It is rather small, so if you are routing out an area more than a couple of inches wide in any direction you will have trouble keeping the sole registered firmly on the work. But MUCH MORE IMPORTANTLY, the sole is not stainless steel. I believe it is aluminum. This is a problem because it leaves dark smudges on the surfaces around the cutting area. I suspect that

midi router good for me

Works great and has 2 other size cutters available. Would be nice if had holes for putting on a wood base. Thanks for attention!

Pros
  • Comfort: The ergonomic design of this router plane ensures that it is comfortable to grip and use for extended periods, reducing the risk of hand fatigue or injury
Cons
  • May leave grooves or marks on the wood when retracting the blade

Fine little router plane

Fine little router plane. Does the job but seems to be a little pricey, however it cost less than the others out there. That's my feedback!

Pros
  • Very solid product. The real deal.
Cons
  • Not suitable for deeper grooves or channels

Good for the price for my opinion

I love the price but was slightly disappointed with the size but that is on me as I did not pay attention to the ad. I built a base so I could use in more situations. I did not have a problem with the locking nut even though they did send another because people did. On mine the base was flat and the blade was mostly sharp right out of the box. After sharpening it, it held an edge well. Not bad at all for the price.

Pros
  • Stainless Steel Body
Cons
  • May cause the wood to split if not used correctly

Excellent value for the money!

Pleasantly surprised at the quality and function of this plane! It came pretty sharp but i did a quick honing and polishing and it cut great. You have to fiddle with the height adjustment a little to get it where you want it but after a few tries you get the hang of it. Well worth the money!

Pros
  • I needed to clean up a hand-cut dado and this worked great. Easy to use. A pleasure!
Cons
  • Single-handed use may cause unbalanced cuts

OK But Wing Nut Tends to Loosen

Not a high-end Plane but did OK for rougher work. The wing-nut tends to loosen up, which allows the Cutting tool to slip out of position.

Pros
  • Solid construction and easy to adjust. Can’t beat this Router plane for the price
Cons
  • The blade may chip or become damaged over time
