As for it's purpose it is good. It isn't really soft but it's not hard either. It is very durable and easy to sit on. The color though in the picture is different than what I received. This pattern was the perfect start for the caftan alterations I had in mind. The fabric comes in with enough structure (stiffness) to make sewing easy and softens nicely after wash. This stamp is perfect! Its size fits very well in the hand, and it unscrews so you can change the stamp head out as you desire. The design itself, (I chose the crystal one) leaves the perfect impression in the wax seal. I attached two photos so you can see how just how clearly the images came out. This was a great buy. I bought the medium sized tray in the black walnut finish. I use it on my nightstand to protect the surface since it's vintage (mid-century) and inherited. I originally bought it to use in the kitchen to store and carry my espresso machine on it, but when this tray arrived in the mail it was such good quality and beautiful wood that I couldn't bring myself to put the machine on it.
