Durable and Thick good for me
As for it's purpose it is good. It isn't really soft but it's not hard either. It is very durable and easy to sit on. The color though in the picture is different than what I received. It's more of a jean color blue and design. I have put on the couch to catch cat hair and keep my couch from getting dirty and it has helped a lot. It's pretty big and thick.
