Hair fiber is very soft, however, it tends to cling your skin. I sprayed it with some dry shampoo and that seemed to help keep it from sticking to my face and arms. These butter knives are very attractive and perfect for a rustic style kitchen. While not of the highest quality, they will give you plenty of great use with proper care. As others have mentioned, the finish on the wood is water soluble and may stain, which is why you need to take proper care.
