- IOST has a unique consensus algorithm, called Proof of Believability, which is a variant of Proof of Stake, free from the problem of centralization in the case of nodes with a large number of tokens. The nodes confirming transactions in the IOST network are called Validators. They are divided into two dynamically changing groups: reliable and ordinary validators. Reliable nodes confirm operations first, then they are confirmed again by regular nodes, which ensures their credibility and finality. Each Validator receives a status based on a credibility rating, which is determined by many factors, such as the number of IOST tokens held, an opinion or contribution to community development. Knots with higher credibility ratings have a better chance of finding themselves in a group of reliable Validators.

Thanks to the above solutions, the network during the tests reached a bandwidth of 7 to 8 thousand. transactions per second (TPS)
