Almost too bright Lighting

I used these to replace bulbs in my 1989 Corvette display. In particular turn signals and high beam. Fit and function were good. In fact, they were WAY too bright for this purpose. This LED, used to illuminate small areas, would be excellent in my opinion (of course, if they are that big, it's not worth adjusting). Processing and quality seem to be good. I would even say good for the price! I ended up replacing the current limiting resistors on the LEDs with 10mA current regulators (part number: NSI50010YT1G) to dim the brightness to my liking, which reduced the current by around 30-40mA (depending on the source voltage). This is probably not a good solution for most people. One of the downsides of all cheap LED lights like this is that they use resistors to set the current, not a regulator. This means that the brightness depends on the battery voltage. For most cars, this doesn't make much of a difference and is only noticeable between the car running and the car off (battery charging or not charging). It's quite difficult to take a picture to show the brightness, the one on the right is a white xenon LED. Standard, and the one on the left is a modified version of 10mA.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Some difficulties
