Review on πŸ‘œ The Sak Deena Flap Crossbody: Stylish and Functional Handbag for Versatile Everyday Use by Stephanie Slevira

The perfect versatile bag!

I looked for this bag online for about 9 months and finally bought it. I was hoping to get it in linen but after reading that dark colors are skin friendly I settled on the Cayenne and I'm so glad I did. Cayenne - very beautiful red-orange combination, slightly rusty with orange tones (looks like red plasticine in the photo, better live). The leather is very soft, and the texture matches and flows smoothly from panel to panel. Another commenter elsewhere noted that her bag was made of horribly mismatched grains; It's entirely possible with another bag, but to me it looks like the bag's panels were cut from a large piece of leather and sewn together. The grains are all the same. The skin is soft as butter but holds its shape well. The bag is very well finished, the stitching is very nice and dark brown green on the Cayenne. All edges are well finished and none of the stitching showed any signs of loosening. It's a fantastic size: about 12 inches wide, 10 inches high and about 3 inches deep at the bottom and 1.5 inches high. The size tapers from bottom to top, creating a very nice symmetrical shape. It's big enough to fit your wallet, keys, sunglass case, ipod, cellphone, small makeup bag and electronics cords/cables while still leaving plenty of room. I stuffed it all the way in, almost to the point where the lid wouldn't close, and it wasn't too heavy to carry, nor too small for all the extra stuff I didn't need. The inside is very nice with two rather large elasticated pockets. to hold a cell phone and an iPod, but small enough not to lose anything inside. There is also a zipped pocket on the inner back panel; Call me crazy, but I find zip pockets useless. The external slip pocket on the back is perfect for those who want to slip keys or lip gloss in, but I did find a small wallet (mini zippered wallets with slip pockets on either side, about 3" x 2"). ) fits perfectly in your pocket and falls low enough to be invisible. And since that side of the wallet should, in theory, be pressed against the body, no one should have access to the contents. The top flap also opens into a second cavity along the full length of the wallet and is the same height as the pocket with the flap up. . This would be a great place to store an iPad mini or small tablet, a calendar or notepad, or even a separate wallet or small cosmetic bag. I personally don't care about the pattern inside the zipper cavity as it's a printed image of multicolored yarn in crochet or knit fabric, but that's just my opinion. There is no way I would buy another one of these. I'm probably the only person who likes the fabric strap. Many have complained that it's not leather and it makes the bag look cheap, but I disagree. I think if it were leather it would have to be thinner and maybe dig too far into the shoulder, but from the looks of it it's only a little over an inch wide and doesn't feel uncomfortable with prolonged wear. There's padded shoulder protection, which is nice but useless if the strap is adjusted too tight to accommodate a smaller person. I'm 5'4" and the strap is adjusted so the bag falls on my butt. The shoulder pad still sits on my shoulder but adjusting the strap any shorter makes it useless. I have many compliments for it Got the bag and would no doubt recommend it to anyone or buy it as a gift for someone special.Sak Deena is one of the best bags I've bought in a while and even compared to Kate Spade.Dooney & Burke,Michael Kors or Coach, I would still recommend it.
