Review on πŸ₯ͺ Hefty Baggies Food Storage Bags, Sandwich, Twist Tie, Bulk Pack of 150 by Kayla Guzman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I use them for individual bags to freeze raw meat in the freezer

They come in rolls (like the plastic bag rolls on the grocery shelf except smaller). If I need to freeze 10 chicken breasts (for example), I tear off 10 bags and pull out a one-gallon Ziploc bag. I put my hand in a pocket (like mittens or gloves) and take the meat. Then I pull the bag from my hand and place it over the meat. Finally, I wrap the top of the pouch around the meat (like rolling it). When I've finished all 10 bags, I put them in a ziplock bag and put them somewhere in the freezer (this way the meat lays flat after freezing - saves space). I can then remove 1 or more frozen chicken breasts from the bag and reseal the bag. I don't have to defrost them all if I only need two or three, for example. This saves me time (they defrost individually faster than all together). I've been doing this for about 8 years now. Incidentally, I freeze diced onions, peppers, celery, carrots, etc. in one layer on a baking sheet for 20-30 minutes. Then I easily remove them from the pan with a nylon spatula, place them in a ziplock bag and freeze them. They stay separate so I can scoop a cup, 1/2 cup or whatever I need, reseal the bag and pop it back in the freezer for later use.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
