Description of Arlington Industries CP3540 2PK Plates 2 Pack

Save when you buy the 2 pack! Deeper cover works with pan boxes without the need to cut the post. Comes ready to install with provided #8 screws or back out existing screws to accept notched bracket. Bracket has two separate cover mounting options: threaded post pushes in, for flat ceilings, or screws on for textured/uneven ceilings. Attractive cover plate - After installation, screws don't show on the ceiling. Paintable plastic cover plate eliminates the scratches you get with painted metal covers, also covers poorly cut drywall.

Simple and tidy: Wall Plates

We removed the ugly old chandelier in our dining room but were afraid to remove the box and plaster the hole as the box in this old one was used as a junction box for other circuits A house. So we used one of these plates to close the hole. It's easy to install, almost flat, has no visible hardware, and is almost the same shade of white as the ceiling, so unobtrusive it's practically invisible. Highly recommended.

Good for covering ceiling boxes

I removed a couple of fire alarms at home. In short, I had too many of them. I wasn't happy with the holes they left in the ceiling so I looked for some overlays. Much better now. It was very easy to install. If you have a good ladder and a screwdriver, you should be fine. The result is aesthetically pleasing. I didn't paint them. They just look good without color. I highly recommend it if you need to hide exposed ceiling boxes.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Disappear

Fill the gap in your life!

This case is perfect for me! (with small changes). The textured 5.5" lid fits nicely in a 4" ceiling box (almost flush with the ceiling). Unfortunately, my socket couldn't use the mounting screws that came with it, so I settled on some screws. I used the plastic bracket as a template to pre-drill holes in the joists and then tightened the screws with a screwdriver to avoid splitting. If you have to take that extra step, be sure to wear safety goggles to keep dust out of your eyes! After years…

  • Free for educational purposes

Works well with many screw configurations and hanging options

They have a low profile and can be hung in a variety of ways to help with different screw spacing lengths. I particularly needed a hole that was cut more on one side than the other, so the adapter allowed me to hang it off center to cover the whole hole. The plastic adapter allows multiple screw configurations to be used with the same cap. There is a hole to attach the cover or a threaded hole that allows you to press it firmly onto an uneven surface. It's 5.5 inches in diameter and maybe 0.5…

Suitable for smoke detectors by distance.

I had an old hardwired smoke alarm removed a few years ago, I don't even remember how long ago that was. I've stared at the dangling wires for so long I've gone blind. Until one night 2 weeks ago I noticed a slight shadowy movement taking place in the stillness of the night. I get up, turn on the big light, and damn, I see long-legged daddies slinking between the dangling wires. How long has this spider roamed my ceiling while I slept? How far did he manage to crawl? Have its tentacles ever…
