I am shocked how well the plates hold up. I've used them for soups and surprisingly they hold up well. I've reheated food in my 1100 watt microwave and was surprised that it held its shape. I've used them with simmering homemade chicken soup and they didn't fall apart at all like some paper products and I was able to finish the soup with no problems even though I'm a slow eater.
