Unbeatable at CV (constant speed)

Works like a charm, comes with axle lube for the side that bolts to your drive train. The price is unbeatable. I'm really happy with the purchase and how easy it was. It also came with a new set of hex bolts.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • No Automatic

Complete with screws and good gaskets.

Shaft OK, CV bearings OK but one seal was missing and of questionable quality anyway. The real rubbish is the inner shoe, the rubber shoe has come loose from the metal flange. I was lucky enough to buy original boots, complete with screws and good seals.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • No instructions

If our good friends in China can make this machine work, another one.

Working. How long, I don't know. The OEM axle currently accounts for around 25% of the vehicle's value. When you need right and left, the car will wind up. If our good friends in China can still drive 50,000 miles with this car, then everything is fine. Just take a look.

Pros
  • Excellent Price
Cons
  • Repair

Poor quality - lasted less than a year.

I replaced this axle on my 2000 VW Golf last July. In May of this year I had the same rudder flutter as before the replacement. Both inner and outer constant velocity joints have noticeable play. I would say it's even worse than the original which I replaced after driving it over 200,000 miles. If you only want to leave your car for a short time, this is a cheap short-term solution. Otherwise, look for a better replacement axle. They are not worth exchanging more than once!

Pros
  • Rugged Construction
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Why quality control is important

Easy to assemble and fits perfectly. Parked the car and didn't move an inch. I looked at the inner pivot and saw that the dust boot had been turned about 1/4 turn, so I removed the CV axle to inspect it. I was surprised to learn that the spline assembly was detached from the rest of the joint. One of the bearings fell on the table while I was looking at it. That shouldn't have happened with a complete assembly and installation. My only guess is that the tolerances weren't checked or it was…

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • Everything great
