The buttons are noticeably different

The buttons (like the B, A and C buttons) are slightly taller than the real N64 controller, and the edges are less rounded and smooth. L, R and Z require more pressure than a real controller. Other keys also require more pressure, but this is most noticeable with the keys mentioned above. This makes it difficult to move your thumb over B and then A to press them in quick succession. If you're good at Mario 64 or another game that uses this technique (maybe Mario Party?), this can be a problem…

dead on arrival and not worth my time

got this to try and use on a windows 10 pc. So when it arrived (bought it new from amazon) it was in the gray packaging instead of the box , no manuals , nothing like a driver download page, nothing. I thought it was cheap so it probably helped keep costs down. (One of the competitors I looked at before getting this one was packaged in a clear hard plastic sleeve on the outside, but it looked more like OEM packaging, a plain gray plastic bag, no company logo). So I plugged it into the USB port…

Complete nonsense, one star is too many.

Skip this product. Go straight to another company because it sucks. The stick's sensitivity is annoying at best. Rubber button membranes are not durable; They start breaking right at the edges where the button presses the "bulge" against the circuit board. Setting up this controller to interact with Retroarch was also a nightmare. I had to get very creative with the mapping, both in the Retroarch menu and with the settings for each core, because this amateur company, which I can only assume is…

Works best in the accessory

I have nothing to say other than that it works great on all my computers be it PC, Mac or Linux and the feel of the controller is quite authentic to the originals. Works great for emulators and the like, but of course don't expect the expansion slot on the back of the controller to work as it's not intended for use with such a computer. It's USB after all, so you can't use it with a real N64, but if you still want to add an expansion element, it physically fits into the controller, just doesn't

Updated: Doesn't work well with RaspberryPie

Update: The seller contacted me almost immediately after posting my first review. They went out of their way to solve my problem with their product. They sent me some fixes to try out as well as instructions on how to correctly map the controller to my specific emulator and a new controller to try out. I'm happy to report that this controller works better with the instructions provided. The build quality still falls off a bit, but it's better than the two originals I ordered. Fortunately, the…

Works great after some adjustments

I really can't say anything bad about this controller. It just works and works well. I've never used a real N64 controller, so I can't compare them. This controller feels very light but not flimsy. The plastic buttons work well but can rattle a bit in their mounting holes. I didn't notice any weird problems with the joystick or the hat; both seem to work as intended. I use this controller for my Raspberry Pi Game Center with RetroPie installed. I confess that it took me two days to figure out…

Very impressed with the overall quality.

I'm really surprised how much I like these controllers. In all respects they are N64 controllers without a logo. I was expecting the quality to be pretty poor but they delivered a pretty solid product. I didn't buy these controllers to play Mario style games. I bought them to play fighting games. I play a lot of Mortal Kombat 11 on Steam on Windows 10. It works really well for that. I have a switch in the N64 setup to trigger upgrades that give me an advantage in tower battles. With the help of

The latest edition is great.

Edit: TL;DR: The company sent a new version of the controller, it works fine. No complaints. If the board is marked "AZ-VS0095-A", try replacing it with a newer version ("AZ-VS0096-A"). The joystick has huge dead zones, especially in the lower right position. Even after trying to calibrate it in Windows, moving the joystick way down to the bottom right corner causes Windows to realize it's halfway to the corner, causing your character to move depending on the direction you're going , moving at…
