If you're camping with an air mattress, take that.

If you go camping with an air bed, get this pump. I've tried so many things to inflate my giant Intex air bag including bringing a backup computer battery with me. I just tested this pump with 4 Panasonic eneloop AA rechargeable eneloop LSD batteries in a D cell adapter case. Not only could she fully inflate the bed, she still had enough juice to deflate the bed. I'm sure it will inflate and deflate our twin air mattresses for our kids, all on a single charge.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some little things

Long Battery Life, Harvester High Pressure Hand Pump

Battery life lasted a week if the air mattress was filled every night. However, this pump cannot inflate to very high pressures. My wife and I weigh 320 pounds together and this pump doesn't pressurize the air mattress high enough to give us the firmness we like in the mattress. I would recommend this pump as a great battery powered inflation/deflation option, but if you like a really hard mattress then also get a hand pump to increase the pressure beyond what this pump can achieve.

Pros
  • Regular Price
Cons
  • Almost Never

Only worked 3 or 4 times

I bought this in the spring and thought it would be great not to blow up half a dozen swimmers every time we go to the river this summer (more than 3 times a year) . the week). It was fantastic for the 3 or 4 uses I had of it. I used it once and it won't turn on. I put in new batteries, thinking I'd used enough to destroy the old ones. Still no power. So yeah, it was great while it lasted. Of course, since I bought it well in advance, the return window has long since closed. So now I'm stuckโ€ฆ

Ok but keep your old adapter

I think this pump is fine but keep the adapter from your old Coleman QuickPump! Pay attention to the difference between old and new in the photo. The new adapter (the part that fits into the item being inflated) is tapered, which means you have to apply constant pressure to the pump to maintain a tight seal while inflating. With the old adapter, I could just pop it into the item I wanted to inflate, turn on the pump, and walk away while it inflates itself. Now I have to babysit him. The battery

With its own rechargeable batteries, it really blows!

I bought these after positive feedback from another customer who uses the same battery configuration as me (Sanyo Eneloop AA in D-pods). I have had two Coleman rechargeable inflators and they usually work fine, but the battery in them is failing, not the motor, and the battery cannot be replaced. So I went with it and with fully charged 7 year old Eneloop batteries I had no problem inflating the Queen air bed. There was enough left in the chambers to inflate more mattresses or my inflatableโ€ฆ

Extremely comfortable and powerful

The first one I bought arrived broken - the Revain was replaced within a day to be in time for the hike I was going to use it on. My second has lasted for years and is still going strong. I bought a pair of these for my two adult children for Christmas this year as they kept borrowing mine. This will blow up my large king-size air bed in minutes and deflate it just as quickly. He eats batteries; However, it's nice to be able to inflate the mattress exactly where it's going to stay withoutโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Almost everything is available
