Description of Corsair Vengeance PC4 24000 Desktop Memory

Hand-sorted memory chips ensure high performance with generous overclocking headroom. VENGEANCE LPX is optimized for wide compatibility with the latest Intel and AMD DDR4 motherboards. A low-profile height of just 34mm ensures that VENGEANCE LPX even fits in most small-form-factor builds. A solid aluminum heatspreader efficiently dissipates heat from each module so that they consistently run at high clock speeds. Supports Intel XMP 2.0 for simple one-setting installation and setup. Available in multiple colors to match the style of your system.

Big capacity and performance

I needed 64GB for my dual slot iTX motherboard. They are on ASRock's compatibility list and they work fine on my new build. The only drawback is that there is no LED backlight. I definitely recommend them when high capacity storage is required.

Micron B-Die on computer components

Advantages: - Micron B-Die - Fast! - 64GB in a 2-DIMM package. Excellent density, especially for speeds. Cons: - Had to add extra voltage to hit XMP speeds. XMP says 1.35V, I had to set it to 1.37. I don't have to fiddle around to get something working with a predefined XMP specification. However, it is worth it. I didn't spend a lot of time seeing if I could cut the time down or anything, but I'll be happy to update the review once I do. At the moment I am fully satisfied with this RAM as it…

So far so good with computer components

To get 64GB, it's hard to find a 16GB x 4 setup or a 32GB x 2 setup that doesn't top-flight with RGB throughout. DDR4 3000 C16 does a great job - you get comparable performance compared to DDR4 3600 C 18. The low profile of this memory allows my large CPU cooler to sit on top with little clearance.

Defective and unstable - RMA restocking fee applied

I bought 2 of these as they were one of the first 32GB UDIMMs to hit the market. While they worked fine on my system after a few BIOS updates, I noticed system instability after a few days. When I ran memtest86 it showed memory errors for hours. No overclocking, no storage, no RAM. The system worked completely in stock. And yet memtest86 showed bitflips at the same addresses every few hours. By testing the DIMMs individually, I was able to identify 3 separate "bad bits" on 3 different sticks (4

Overclocks insanely well, especially for a 4x16GB universal kit

I managed to overclock this kit to CL15 4174MHz, with all the tightened timings, at 1.63V. However, it needs a fan, otherwise it can overheat and get late errors. (The $30 Vengeance fan works fine.) Also, you won't get a better 64GB RAM kit than this, which can achieve almost the same absolute latency as the CL18 5000MHz kit. I have no regrets buying this great overclocker.

Pros
  • Robust construction
Cons
  • Minor issues
