If the item you are trying to grab is occupying the hole you inserted it into, you may need to hold the base with one hand and pull the item out with the other hand. But in general all things are simple. The product has slits that give it design and texture and can be a bit difficult to clean. I can see it getting busy here so keep that in mind when organizing. I was worried that they might hold things in the right position. I love how the item is tiered and each tier has a different sized hole

What a cool organizer! I received this specifically for storing a small bottle of eye drops. (Now there is only one bottle left.) The soft silicone X-holes at the top of the pyramid-shaped double-layer box are perfect for small items.
