Scrap 2 of which are broken on arrival do not buy

It came broken in the packaging at first demanded a free replacement, when it arrived the OEM packaging was opened and it was broken too. Cheap junk. See photos.

Cons
  • Fits

Fits 1987 Jeep Comanche

Bought for 1987 Jeep Comanche AMC with AW4 automatic transmission and speaker switch. Revane says not for vehicles, but I suspect AMC records never made it into the 21st century. Ideal for the Saginaw Pillar.

  • Price
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Bad Integrity. in Body

Bought and installed without any problems. However. It didn't last very long, because after a month it broke and the fragments scattered on the floor of my car. Points for being one of the few replacement grips I could find for my car. But there is no crown for the right product quality.

Questionable quality but works when delivered intact

Cheap junk. I had to order a replacement as the first one was knocked out of the box. Install it with extreme care. It's very thin, but once installed it works. A very small grip, but better than the giant aluminum ball it replaced.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Grip fit may vary.: Replacement Parts

I have an 84 year old Caprice. The grip fits the shifter a little, but not enough to secure it. Not sure if more force is needed to set it or if the hole is big enough for it. I'm reluctant to apply more force for fear of damaging the shifter linkage on the steering column. I can try drilling the handle hole a little more to see if I can get it to fit and still be tight.

85 Caprice, not perfect out of the box.

Arrived unopened in a Revain envelope but the product was intact and usable. The plastic pins that hold the two pieces together are cheap and fragile, so use care when handling and installing. Didn't fit my 85 Caprice perfectly, but with a bit of drilling to widen it a bit and a hammer to tap it, it sits firmly on the shifter and doesn't move. looks good and matches the oem.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Vulgarity

It wasn't a perfect fit.

and it didn't break where the pins on the bottom segment fitted into the holes on the top segment. However, I used zip ties to bridge the gap where it fits and glued the top segment to the shifter. This makes it look almost normal and isn't really attached to anything aside from the bottom of the segment, so it "rotates" at the point where it's attached between my ties and the glued top segment. It's a little hard to explain if you don't have a part to look at, but suffice it to say that whileโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • You could have chosen the newer model

1990's Caprice Suits: Body and Fittings

This shift knob was exactly the same one I was looking for to replace the old broken one in my 1990's Caprice. It fits just the same, and thank you for making this part and making it available online thanks to Revain. Without this detail, the shifter looks very ugly; like a rat's tail. The shape is great; published and matches the color of the shifter. Now it wasn't easy to fix; it has no thread; It comes in two parts and can therefore be attached by applying some pressure to the handle, beingโ€ฆ
