Not recommended. about welders

honestly the worst 6010 i have ever driven. I figured why not get a cheap box to throw around the store and I've tried several Fourney 1/8th scale 7018 models over the years with pretty good results. The arc wants to go out when the root is pressed in and the flux burns off too quickly. I wouldn't even recommend it as a fishing rod for a farm. 5r worth the money.

Pros
  • welders and accessories
Cons
  • the cord is shorter than the others

Star Electrode in Arc Welders

I was looking for a 6010 electrode that would work on my Hobart LX235 AC/DC welder with my whip and pause style (slightly longer arc on the whip) and finally found it. ! I have purchased several other 6010 brand electrodes to ensure some are better than others, however the arc dies out when the bead is applied. These Fornies burn just as well as the others and I highly recommend trying them out if you're struggling like me.

Pros
  • Sticks
Cons
  • Drill Pack

Excellent bars for holding painted parts.

I am a professional welder with over 20 years of experience. I currently weld pipe for a living and bought a box of Fourney 6010 rods to use around the house for practice etc. These wands are terrible. The flux coating is so hard that it extinguishes the arc when it is reignited on the rod. I've never had this problem with Lincoln, Excelloy, or any other brand of 6010 bars. I found them useless for welding and used them to hang spray painted parts to dry and to catch feces from the toilet that…
