I ordered these on the advice of a suit translator from Colonial Williamsburg because they look very similar to late 18th/early 19th century men's shoes. Bought a pair to wear with my Regency men's suit and the shoes are great - stylish and very affordable. I had to order them twice because they are big; The first pair I ordered (albeit in a large size) didn't fit at all. I went down a full size and still they were a bit big. But I wore thicker socks and they fit well.
