Hopkins FloTool Nylon Strap Wrench 10619

Hopkins FloTool Nylon Strap Wrench 10619 is good for hard-to-reach oil filters. Used it on my wife's 2010 Subaru Impreza.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Available in white only

Universal wrench for an old oil filter, it works!

Affordable, fits most oil filters and other filters. You can also use this for other projects that need to be tightened or loosened without damaging the finish. Order this for another friend!

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons

A MUCH better solution than this

This is not a 1/2" or 3/4" drive. It requires a 5/8" driver, which doesn't exist. I had to find a set of weird square sockets to fit the right bits. Get one of those two-lever filter wrenches that end up gradually tightening. Filter if Turning it to the left is a MUCH better solution than this.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Disappear

Wrong design of tools and equipment

I should have known this thing wouldn't work but I bought it anyway. The key is on the side of the filter, so turning it only compresses the filter more, even to the point where it deforms. Thus, the torque applied to the feather key is only slightly transferred to the filter itself, since the filter axis and the feather key are not aligned. has been completely deformed, it is much easier to loosen with pliers.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Upgrades

An incredibly simple but indispensable tool.

When I first attempted to change the oil on my newest car, I found that the oil filter could not be removed with standard oil filter wrenches. Insufficient clearance for pliers or other strap wrenches. I would use a socket wrench if I could find a wrench that would fit the factory installed filter (even the auto parts department didn't have one!). After scouring tool stores and auto parts stores, I finally found this universal oil filter wrench in Revane. It is used with a standard 1/2" ratchet

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Frequency

Good idea bad design

Good idea and after processing it in my shop it works fine. Can be used for multiple things. (I was just using it to adjust the "saddles" on my new Thule Helium bike rack when I couldn't move them by hand.) Way to the open end. That's because a flange made from the remnants of the metal casting was left along the way. The socket would not "snap" into the square hole and kept coming loose in use because the hole they drilled to mount the small ball bearing built into the square end of the socket

Pros
  • Test for one year
Cons
  • Negative impression
