📷 Ilford DELTA 3200 Professional: High-speed Black and White Print Film for Stunning Results, ISO 3200 (1921535) Review

I love the rugged look you can get from this film and it's perfect for shooting with ambient light in difficult situations.

The Delta 3200 has the best shadow detail I've ever seen in a film. Film is notorious for easily losing detail in shadows while preserving highlights. When I pulled the first roll out of the tank the negatives looked very thin, but when I climbed onto the scanner I was amazed at what was actually there. The dynamic range is unmatched.

I've tried many movies but this is one of my favorites. At 3200 ISO it's easy to use indoors, but I've also shot it outdoors with great success. One of the most versatile films I've used if you don't mind the grain I like. I bought some rolls before the price went up. Now I have to be more conservative with my recordings.

This film excels in low light. It will pull detail out of the shadows that the Tri-X or HP5+ could never pull through. This is ISO 1000 film intended to be pushed. Best tone is around EI1600 but good for 3200 and ok for 6400. Grain is heavier but if you use this film the grain probably won't bother you. I am developing this film in Xtol with excellent results. My advice: take this film one step further than Ilford recommends. Shoot to 1600 and evolve to 3200. Just my advice.

. Depending on the developer used, it is an ISO 400 film that can be upscaled to 3200. In Caffenol it's ISO 400, in Diafine it's 1250. I had to change my rating 3 times, first I shot at 3200 with no pictures, then I realized it's not 3200 and tried to develop on different isos, and found it's 400 and 1250 in diafin but couldn't make a decent comparison with trix 400. Impressive film. The Ilford specifications list recommended development times for a wide range of ISOs from 400 to 12500. I recently fired at 1600 and developed in Xtol with a water wash (non-stop) - excellent results. I also shot 3200 but the graininess is much more noticeable.
