I didn't know when I ordered this brush but you can store dish soap in the handle! If you squeeze the handle from above or below, some soap will squirt out through the small hole in the middle of the brush. There's a silicone valve that closes the hole and only opens when pressure is applied, so it won't leak or take in water if you leave it in the dishwasher. The brush itself is fairly stiff and cleans well; I find it works best when squeezed lightly, which also reduces the chance of squeezing
