Poor build quality for the price.

I was hoping for a quality display that would last my week on the farm. The first pair lasted less than 1 month before they started falling apart. The soles of the shoes fell off and they became unwearable. I processed the return hoping it was an accident. The second couple lived 6 weeks before they began to separate, but it was too late to bring them back. For what they cost I was hoping to get a few years out of them. I have wide feet and the shoes fit great and wear out very quickly, but…

Traditional fit and quality Keen

Keen is my favorite brand of sandals and walking shoes and I can attest that these shoes have the 'traditional' fit I was looking for. So if hiking shoes and Targhee boots and Newport sandals are your thing, they should live up to your expectations. They also fit the regular size I usually order. They seemed a bit stiff at first and I had my doubts, but after a few days they settle in well.

Pros
  • Great selection

  • Good but not great

A Tale of Two Shoes

I first bought a pair of these Keen shoes locally at an expensive travel store. I love this style and I love my USA made Keen Durands. The build quality was excellent and the leather quality was excellent. After wearing it at home for a few hours, I noticed that the size is very large. I wear Birk and Keens clogs and I know what to expect from oversized shoes. But they were definitely 1/2 size larger than US shoe sizes. I should have bought EU size instead of 45. I went back to the store to…

I hate to admit the best men

Over the years I've bought 5 pairs of these shoes. You usually only get 1 year from them or other shoes. This pair is built differently and is very disappointing. They're always stiff and need a break-in period, but I noticed that this pair has a longer tongue. The difference is less than half an inch and is very noticeable due to the fact that it is a hard material. So I looked at the label to see where they were made. Bingo. Another country of origin, India. I hate to admit that the 4…

Great shoes, just wish they had lasted longer.

I love these shoes. I only wish they had lasted longer. I usually wear them all day every day. They are very comfortable mainly due to the wider toe box. That being said, I find they usually last about a year before the sole falls apart. I will still buy them again until I find better shoes.

Tongues for men

I really like these shoes and bought them for the wide toe but the tongues are killing my ankles. I thought they might get softer; no such luck. The tongues stick out a half inch more than they should, which is a serious design flaw. The shoes have to be recalled because of the risk that they could injure your ankles. Maybe the shoemaker can mend my tongue. Aside from the awfully protruding tongues, the shoes are pretty good. Tongues are the black fly in my Chardonnay.

Cons
  • No performance

Thick tongue does not work with high arch

My husband has a high arch and the thick soft tongue presses hard on the high arch. He can often wear a larger size to alleviate this problem, but these Keen Austin clog clogs are only medium-sized and don't work as such. We returned the shoes for a refund.

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • too blunt

Well-made men's mules and clogs

I really liked these shoes. I was so dissatisfied that I had to send them back. Although Keen sneakers are usually a bit wider than other similar shoes and boots, these weren't wide enough for me. Looks like the screws and plates in my previously fractured left leg really need major sizing. They didn't fit me, but they're great. I hope they work for you because otherwise they were perfect.

Pros
  • Best in their niche
Cons
  • Easy serviceability

Excellent shoes, a bit too wide

I've been wanting these shoes for 10-15 years. Got the opportunity at a really good price and ordered a pair. As always with Keen, they were really good shoes, very well made, but they were a little loose and being leather I knew they would be too big if I put them on with the leather open. Unfortunately I returned them. I definitely recommend this shoe and the quality is excellent. If your foot is on the narrow side of a medium size, you are definitely welcome to try them on before purchasing…
