Excellent long lasting product. The case on it is made of plastic, but not cheaply made. I've been tapping it every day with no chips, scratches and breaks. The cord is very durable. Not super thin so think it will break. The clip at the top has a good spring and doesn't look like it's going to wear out anytime soon. I chose this product because I bought a set of retractable key spools for work a few months ago. Well, an accidental fall on the floor and the plastic key roll broke and stopped working. I had 15 keys on 3 key rings attached to the key ring built into the product. After about 9 or 10 months the clasp on the carabiner broke and fell off. It's okay - I just bought a more durable carabiner from a local hardware store as shown in the picture. The ones the company gave me kept breaking, the new ones I got from them that were supposed to be "heavy duty" were too short and broke shortly after receiving them. I bought this specifically to attach my jackknife and use it at work. I have this uncanny ability to lose my knife about four or five times an hour as it takes a lot of effort to get it in and out of my pocket and if I forget to close the blade I risk injury.
